Derin Tarih olarak bu ay Ertuğrul Faciası’nı gündemimize taşırken, uzaklara mahzun bir selam gönderiyor ve kazada ebediyete intikal eden Osmanlı askerlerini rahmetle anıyoruz. “Ertuğrul Faciası” dosyamızda Prof. Dr. Ali Merthan Dündar, Türk-Japon ilişkileri ekseninde Ertuğrul faciasına dair merak edilen soruları cevaplarken, Japon Türkolog Nobuo Misawa, Ertuğrul Fırkateyni mürettebatının resepsiyon kayıtlarında ulaştığı önemli bulguları Derin Tarih okurlarıyla paylaştı. Engin Çağdaş Bulut, Ertuğrul Fırkateyni faciasında hayatını kaybeden 82 Trabzonlu şehidin şehadete giden sürecini kaleme alırken, Fatma Türk Toksoy, Ertuğrul Fırkateyni olayında Osmanlı’yı itibarsızlaştırma çabası güden ve bu doğrultuda asılsız haberler yapan gazetelerin küpürlerinden örnekler sundu. “Ertuğrul Faciası” dosya konusu haricinde ise Prof. Dr. İsmail Kara, Cumhuriyet’in ilk dönemlerinde birbirlerinden uzaklaştırılan Türklük ve Müslümanlık kavramlarının serencamını kaleme alırken, Prof. Dr. İsmail Güleç, edebiyatı tarihle buluşturan bir sanat olan tarih düşürmenin ilk örneklerini gündeme taşıdı. Arif Emre Gündüz, 1526’dan 1686’ya kadar Osmanlı hakimiyetinde kalan Budin şehrinin nasıl fethedildiğini ve nasıl elden çıktığını kaleme alırken, Deniz Çıkılı, İngiliz Doğu Hindistan Şirketi’nin Hint Alt Kıtası’ndaki varlığını sağlamlaştırmak için yirminci yüzyılın ikinci yarısında bünyesine kattığı yerlerden biri olan Bombay’ın II. Charles’a nasıl çeyiz olarak verildiğini yazdı.
